I remember I’ve written an article comparing MVCI and King Scanner G3, which are both car diagnostic tools for Japanese cars. From that article, we know that MVCI interface is a high performance diagnostic tool for Toyota TIS, and it works in most 1996 and newer Honda, Toyota, Lexus and Volvo vehicles with OBDII/DLC3 diagnostics. Besides, I also mentioned the function of MVCI as diagnosing, reprogramming, active test, and key programming; and other MVCI features.

Today, I would like to share some Free Downloads for MVCI diagnostic tool, and a use video about How to use MVCI.

A BMW Multi Tool as Key/EEProm/Odometer Programmer

Today, I would like to show a brief overview of a BMW Multi tool V1.2, which owns multiple functions for BMW cars: Write & read EEPROM, read and change mileage stored in CAS system, Synchronization Codes and Key Learn function.

BMW Multi tool V1.2 Accessories:
- an OBD II Connector: Connects the tool to the vehicle’s Data Link connector (DLC).
- a Dongle: USB dongle.
- a USB Connector: Connects the tool to the PC/Laptop through USB Cable.
- a Programmer: Program keys.
- a Programmer Female Pin: Connects programmer to device.
- a Programmer Male Pin: Connects programmer to device.
Before running the Software you should connect both the Dongle and Hardware Device to computer.

BMW Multi tool V1.2 can be used to:
Read / Write EEPROM, Save / Load File:
1. You should backup the CAS EEPROM before prepare dealer key. After succeed reading EEPROM, please SAVE it as a Backup file. This is very important.
2. BMW multi tool can’t read the whole EEPROM for CAS3 system recently. But the main section is contained. It should be saved. When you read CAS EEPROM, it will give tips (Press ok to continue).

Read / Write Odometer:
BMW multi tool read and change the mileage stored in CAS system, but NOT the mileage in instrument panel.
So if you want to change the mileage values in instrument, you should change it in CAS system first. And modify the mileage in instrument manually.

Synchronization Codes:
1. CAS3 code-DME, CAS3code-EGS: Read and write DME and EGS code stored in CAS3 system.
2. Synchronize DME and CAS— this will be useful while prepare dealer key or any other operation which cause can’t start the engine.
3. Synchronize CAS and ELV — this can help clear wheel errors

Key Learn Function:
1. Get Key Info: BMW multi tool get the key cutting, remote frequency, and key data.
2. Save Key Info
3. Load Key Info: Load the saved key info to see the key data and prepare for writing key info.
4. Write Key Info: Write the loaded key info into CAS system.
5. Make Dealer Key: You can prepare dealer key after you get key info successfully. Also you should choose the key position.
6. Add key: Add the new dealer key into CAS system. Some CAS system needs this step to start the engine.
7. Enable Key: Insert the current key into ignition switch, press “Enable Key”. The key will be enabled.
8. Disable Key: Insert the current key into ignition switch, press “Disable key”. The key will be disabled.
9. Clear DTC: Before prepare dealer key and after it you can use this function to clear DTC.
10. Clear Shadow: Before prepare dealer key and after it you can use this function to clear Shadow.

File Make Key:
1. Choose CAS or EWS type.
2. Load the choose EEPROM file you will get the make dealer key window.
3. Choose key position and press “Make Dealer Key” button. Flow the given tips to prepare dealer key. After succeed you can save the new EEPROM dump file.
- For EWS1, EWS2, EWS3, EWS4, CAS1, CAS2, CAS3 type the prepared dealer key can start the engine directly.
- For some CA3+ type you need to write back the new dump file into car.
4. CAS3 encrypt data, only OBDII prepare make key is supported for CAS3 encrypt data.

Activation Autocom Cars CDP Pro/Delphi 2011.02 + 2011.03 Steps:
TURN OFF your internet connection and run program.
Input the S/N and Hardware Key. Click “Activate via USB”. The S/W’s will write something on it.
So, insert your USB Device and you will have a file named “FileActivation.xml”.

But the genuine Autocom CDP can. Connect Autocom to PC via USB connector, make sure the PC has found the USB and VCI. Press “update”.

OBD2 Scanner Communication Ways

OBD2 scanner communication ways including: USB, RS232, Bluetooth and WIFI. But which scanner is the one with the right communication you need?
Now, I will introduce some OBDII scanners with different communications for you.

OBD2 scan tools connect to PC via USB (COM port)
USB OBD2 diagnostic scanners allows you to use your PC and a hardware interface to get the information from your car’s computer, instead of show the test result directly on the interface screen (like stand-alone code scanners). These PC-based tools usually are professional and works with one or more car models, they can read fault codes, clear fault codes, read data live, etc.

OBD2 scanners connect to PC via RS232 (Serial Port)
These OBD2 scanners, for example, are Honda HDS, Mercedes Benz star C3, star C4, Nissan Consult Diagnostic Interface, SBB key programmer, Motorola MC68HC05M Programmer, Motorola 705 Programmer, Motorola MC68HC08 908 Programmer and more. As you see, some of them are professional diagnostic tools, some are car key programmer, and ECU programmer. No matter what they work as, they work via serial port.

OBDII scanner communicate via Bluetooth
There is a part of OBD2 diagnostic tools are communicated by Bluetooth. Let’s take VAS5054 for example, VAS 5054A is a universal diagnostic interface for the vehicles of the Volkswagen Group and all OBD vehicle systems from other manufacturers. The integrated Bluetooth interface connects the vehicle with a notebook, desktop PC or test system. No cables are needed for vehicle diagnostics using the VAS 5054A. The range of the wireless Bluetooth connection is 5 to 10 meters, depending on the environment and the type of Bluetooth adapter used on the PC side. The Serial Port Profile (SPP) is used for data transfer via Bluetooth. Different Bluetooth security levels are supported.

Besides, there are also some other Bluetooth OBD scanners, like, ELM327 Bluetooth, Nissan Consult 3, Launch X431 Tool and Launch X431 Diagun.

OBD scanner works via WIFI
Such as, WIFI327 WIFI USB OBD2 EOBD Scan Tool; WIFI327 OBD2 scanner is the latest PC-based scan tool. It supports all OBD-II protocols and is dispatched with a number of compatible programs. The output protocol (connection to laptop) is USB cable, it adds the new communication way: WIFI, the range of WIFI is more than 20m, and works much stable compared with Bluetooth communication.

Memoscan VAG5053 VW Audi scanner user manual

Preparation before Testing with VAG 5053 scanner
Memoscan VAG5053 Scanner (serve CAN-BUS) is used for monitoring electronic and emissions-related faults in your VW Audi vehicle and retrieving fault codes related to malfunctions in these systems. Mechanical problems such as low oil level or damaged hoses, wiring or electrical connectors can cause poor engine performance and may also cause a “false” fault code. Fix any known mechanical problems before performing any test. See your vehicle’s service manual or a mechanic for more information.

- Check the following areas before any test with VAG 5053:
1. Check the engine oil, power steering fluid, transmission fluid (if applicable), engine coolant and other fluids for proper levels. Top off low fluid levels if needed. Make sure the air filter is clean and in good condition. Make sure all air filter ducts are properly connected. Check the air filter ducts for holes, rips or cracks.
2. Make sure all engine belts are in good condition. Check for cracked, torn, brittle, loose or missing belts.
3. Make sure mechanical linkages to engine sensors (throttle, gearshift position, transmission, etc.) are secure and properly connected. See your vehicle’s service manual for locations. Check all rubber hoses (radiator) and steel hoses (vacuum/fuel) for leaks, cracks, blockage or other damage. Make sure all hoses are routed and connected properly.
4. Make sure all spark plugs are clean and in good condition. Check for damaged, loose, disconnected or missing spark plug wires.
5. Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. Check for corrosion or broken connections. Check for proper battery and charging system voltages.
6. Check all electrical wiring and harnesses for proper connection. Make sure wire insulation is in good condition, and there are no bare wires.
7. Make sure the engine is mechanically sound. If needed, perform a compression check, engine vacuum check, timing check (if applicable), etc.

Connect VAG5053
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Locate the vehicle’s 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Connect the VAG 5053 cable connector to the vehicle’s DLC. Turn on the ignition, Press [power button], VAG5053 will start, and show screen as following:

4. Wait a moment, the screen will auto display the main menu:

[Diagnosis system]: enter the control module selection menu.
[Contrast]: adjust the contrast.

How to install battery & WIFI card for MB SD connect C4

I used to post an entry comparing MB SD Connect compact 4 with other MB Star diagnostic tools: Buy MB SD Connect C4 or other MB Star diagnostics. So we have learnt that MB SD Connect Compact 4 serve wireless diagnosis.
Today, I would like to share How to install the Battery and WIFI Card for MB SD Connect compact 4.

Steps for Installing Rechargeable batteries and WIFI Card for SD connect compact 4
1. Things you’ll need:
① — SD connect multiplexer which need to input the batteries.
② — 6 units Ni-MH Rechargeable batteries. Size: AA, Voltage: 1.2V, Capacity: above 1700mA.
③ — 1 unit 108M WIFI Card.
④ — Plum screwdriver, Specification: T-20

2. Take out the rubber below of MB SD connect c4:
Use the T20 Plum screwdriver to take out the screws below, and take out the rubber.
① — Batteries Space.
② — WIFI Card Space.
③ — SD Card Space.

3. Insert the Rechargeable batteries for SD connect compact 4 benz.
(1) Use the T20 Plum screwdriver to take out the screws of Batteries Space fixation as below.
(2) Take out the fixation of Batteries Space. Pay attention to the Battery polarity marked in the Batteries Space.

(3) Insert the batteries. Note the Battery polarity.
(4) Button on the Fixation of Batteries Space after inputting the Rechargeable batteries.
(5) Use the T20 Plum screwdriver to fix the screws of Batteries Space fixation as below. Inserting the batteries is finished.

4. Install WIFI Card for this wireless SD connect compact 4.
(1) Inserting the WIFI Card into the WIFI Card Space. Please make the correct direction.
(2) Push it to make it totally connected.
(3) Cover the rubber and fix the screws to finish all the work.

How to use SKT-100 super key tool 2.1

SKT-100 super key tool 2.1 is car key programmer for transponder key programming.

SKT100 key tool can be used to:

Read and write keys with transponders, operate at 125 kHz and 134, 2 kHz frequency with AM (amplitude modulation) and PM (phase modulation);

Recover the lost transponders keys with data read from the car immobilizers memory using built-in calculators;

Generate prepared keys for binding key to immobilizers by means of dealer equipment or other.

SKT 100 Setup:

It is strongly recommended to study transponder’s datasheet before using “SKT100” device (SKT-100 Manual showing “Supported Transponder Types” will post below).

SKT100 software comes in two versions: Portable and With Installer.

Tip 1: SKT100 Version with installer, after you run it, installs the necessary drivers and itself to the computer.

SKT 100 Portable version consists two files: the first – the installation driver, the second – the program itself, which requires no installation and takes place on any computer. It can be placed on any external storage device.

Tip 2: Consider working with SKT100 software. After starting the software you see the operating field. In the upper part is the main menu. Main menu allows you to download the data previously read from the transponder, or store the read data in the file, it is the same choice of the window to work with the internal memory of the device.

Tip 3: Menu RFID-Device is intended for:

Select transponder – select operation windows with a transponder (depending on the type of transponder).

Calc – a choice of calculator for restoration of transponder lost data

Keygen – select generator of the prepared transponder by the type of vehicle

How to use SKT 100 key tool:

After successfully setup SKT 100 software, the SKT100 key programmer can be operated with:

Temic and T5 Transponders

Philips Transponders

Hitag2 Transponders

Megamos Crypto (M48) Transponders
